Arbitration award from Hamilton Local 786
We would like to share an arbitration award from Hamilton Local 786, which deals with the employer temporary reassigning RPN’s to other units. Great job on this victory!
Quoting from the arbitration decision:
None of the affected grievors were provided notice of temporary reassignment prior to attending work for the affected shift. I thus find that each of those grievors was entitled to premium pay for the shift in question. Having not been presented with facts to the contrary, I likewise find that insufficient notice was provided in relation to the other Individual Grievances listed at Appendix “B” and find that each of those grievors would have been entitled to premium pay for the shift(s) in question. The Hospital is directed to ensure that each Grievor is properly compensated for these shifts within thirty (30) days of this Award.
